What is the story behind instant ramen? ›

Momof*cku Ando was born on March 5, 1910. He established Nissin Food Products and founded the Ando Foundation. In 1958, Momof*cku invented Chicken Ramen, the world's first instant ramen, creating the instant ramen industry. In 1971, he invented CUPNOODLES, the world's first ramen served in a cup.

It is well worth the money. The museum itself is small, and the cartoon you watch about the history is in Japanese. Highly recommend you ask at the ticket counter for an English info book. For kids, they have the play park, which is 500 yen per kid and probably a bit pricey for 1/2 hour play time.

Be ready to wait and arrive early as tickets do run out. The custom chicken ramen were 1000 yen ($9 - $11) The museum takes about an hour and if you decide to customize a noodle cup of your own, add about 30 -40 mins depending on how many people are there.

How do I get to Ikeda Cup noodle museum? ›

The museum is accessible by train. From Osaka-umeda Station, take the Hankyu-Takarazuka Line (located within the Hankyu Railway station in Umeda) to Ikeda Station. From Ikeda Station, take exit 2 and head south two blocks. The museum is next to the Magistrates' Court.
