🔧 In 2019, M Heavy Technology proudly participated in a significant project: the reconstruction of the blast furnace shop №2 at the ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih enterprise. Such large-scale reconstruction projects are rare in Ukraine, and we were honored to be a part of it. #IndustryLeadership🌍 Our mission was to ensure the comprehensive modernization of the DP-9, enabling it to operate efficiently for the next 20 years. This upgrade would allow the furnace to use pulverized coal fuel (replacing expensive natural gas) up to 200 kilograms per ton of iron, reducing the co*ke equivalent and, consequently, the cost of iron production. Moreover, the project aimed to reduce dust emissions to less than 20 mg per standard cubic meter and improve gas purification to a level not exceeding 5mg/nm3, significantly enhancing environmental performance. #EcoFriendlyProduction🔩 The project's scope was vast, encompassing:🔹 Replacement of the blast furnace shell, its lining, cooling plates, furnace-changing devices, and other furnace equipment.🔹 Introduction of a new cooling system using desalted water in a closed circuit.🔹 Installation of new research equipment and reconstruction of the support system.🔹 Replacement of the ring air duct and the lining of the hot blast pipe.🔹 Complete replacement of metal structures, equipment, and pipelines, except for the loading conveyor.🔹 Replacement of dirty gas pipelines with the installation of compensators and dust collectors replaced with axial cyclones to enhance dust removal efficiency.🌬️ For gas cleaning, the project included:◾️ Installation of a new ring gap scrubber.◾️ Retrofitting of the existing scrubber into a nozzle droplet catcher.◾️ Replacement of the clean blast furnace gas pipeline with equipment installed on it.◾️ Replacement of the gas-cleaning technological water supply system with new pumps.🔥 The project also envisioned replacing the existing slag granulation plants. The new slag granulation plant would consist of two granulation areas (east and west), a dehydration area, a cooling tower, pipelines for transporting granulated slag with water to the dehydration area, a conveyor transport device for dehydrated granulated slag, and a water circulation system.🏭 Our team of engineers meticulously designed every aspect of the project, adhering to all norms and regulations applicable in Ukraine.
