Summer is just getting started, but we’re already enjoying every minute of it. We’ve been spending a lot more time together and taking it pretty easy.

We’ve been spending a lot of time playing and doing things we don’t always have time for during busy school nights- including making some of our favorite recipes that we haven’t had in a while!

Easy, Cheesy Baked Ziti Recipe (1)

The other day I made my favorite Baked Ziti recipe- a favorite of the whole family. It’s a very kid-friendly meal because my boys love pasta and cheese, and this dish has a lot of both of those things!

Everyone loved the baked ziti, as they always do, and when we were done we went out to play in the backyard. It’s been over 100 degrees every day, so the evenings are the only chance we get to really get outside.

We jumped on the trampoline and shot a few hoops, and by the time we came inside we were all tired. So tired, in fact, that I fell asleep putting the kids to bed!

I woke up in the morning and found the casserole dish from the baked ziti, and it had cheese, sauce, and even pasta still stuck to it.

That sounds terrible and like an awful chore to wake up to, but luckily we have a big box of Cascade Complete Action Pacs that we got at Costco. With Cascade, I don’t even have to prewash my dishes- even when they look like this:

I just popped that dish into the dishwasher with a Cascade Complete Action Pac and a few hours later, I pulled it out as good as new. Cascade Complete has Dawn built right in and together, they can fight food that’s been stuck on for up to 48 hours!

I love not having to stress about getting the dishes done right after dinner- if I would have been inside taking care of clean-up right after dinner, I would have missed playing with my kids!

It’s the little things like that that make P&G products from Costco a great fit for my family. They pay attention to small details and it’s clear- whether I’m using Cascade Complete Action Pacs or the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers that I rely on to get Zac’s latest art installation off the walls.

If you love P&G products as much as I do, you can stock up on your household needs like Febreze Air Effects, Cascade Complete Action Pacs, Dawn Platinum Advanced Power, and more at your local Costco for a great price!

I love getting the big packs of household necessities because I know I always have the tools I need on hand- no matter how messy life gets.

Yield: 12

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Total Time: 40 minutes

This gooey, cheesy baked ziti recipe is simple to make and will make the whole family smile! It's a great weeknight dinner option.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz. ziti pasta
  • 16 oz. ricotta cheese
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1 jar of pasta sauce {I used marinara but you can use any red sauce you want!}
  • Shredded parmesan to taste
  • ¼ cup fresh basil

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350F. Cook the pasta according to package directions. Make sure to cook it to al dente- you don’t want it to get mushy! Drain when done cooking.

2. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta and the ricotta, making sure to coat all of the pasta. Add in 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese and stir well.

3. Add in 2 cups of pasta sauce and stir well.

4. In a 9×13 casserole dish, spread 1 cup of pasta sauce, coating the bottom of the pan.

5. Place your pasta and cheese mixture in the pan, spreading into an even layer.

6. Top with remaining pasta sauce, then remaining mozzarella, then shredded parmesan {I did a light coat of it over the entire dish, but if you like parmesan more or less you can adjust it as needed!}

7. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes. Meanwhile, finely chop fresh basil leaves. When finished, top with basil and serve!
