Energy Ball aka. UFO Ball

The flashing Energy Ball allows students to become a human hook-up wire! This very cool device consists of a 1.5-inch ball with two small metal electrodes. When the two electrodes are touched simultaneously, the ball flashes and makes a strange tone. The flashing Energy Ball utilizes a field effect transistor so even the slightest conduction between the two electrodes activates the Sphere. The Energy Ball (UFO Ball) is completely self-contained and requires no additional batteries or energy source. It is often used to demonstrate closed and open circuits, just line up your students in different "circuits" and complete the connection.

Small Parts. Not for children under 3 years.

FAQs

What is the science behind energy ball? ›

Inside the Energy Ball is an open circuit. By touching both sensors, the circuit closes and electrons flow through your body or another material such as a paper clip. Materials that activate the Energy Ball are good conductors, meaning they pass electrons easily.

How to use an energy ball? ›

Activating the ball is the fun part - just touch the metal strips with your two index fingers. Your body forms the conducting material that bridges the gap between the two metal strips and closes the circuit! Challenge the class to see how many students can make a complete circuit.

What is a cosmic ball? ›

This cosmic energy ball is an excellent toy to aid the teaching of the principles of electricity and conductivity. By simply touching the energy ball's metal strips (electrodes), the ball becomes a mini light and sound show; it emits a red light and creates a buzzing sound.

Why are energy balls healthy? ›

Protein balls, as their name suggests, are a great source of protein. With the inclusion of protein powder plus other protein-rich ingredients such as nut butters, nuts, seeds and a variety of other ingredients, protein balls make for a great protein-packed snack and delicious treat.

What is inside an energy ball? ›

Method. Put pecans in a food processor and blitz to crumbs. Add raisins, peanut butter, flaxseeds, cocoa powder and agave syrup, then pulse to combine. Shape mixture into golf ball-sized balls and roll in desiccated coconut to coat.

How does the energy make the toy work? ›

Kinetic energy is the energy of motion. For example, to operate a wind-up toy, kinetic energy from winding the toy is converted to elastic potential energy in the toy's spring mechanism. After the spring is released, the elastic potential energy is converted back to kinetic energy when the toy moves.

What are energy balls made of? ›

ENERGY BALL BASE:

1 1/4 cups old fashioned rolled oats you can also swap quick oats or a blend of half quick, half old fashioned. 2 tablespoons “power mix-ins” chia seeds, flaxseeds, hemp seeds, or additional rolled oats. 1/2 cup nut butter of choice peanut butter is my go-to.

How long can you keep energy balls in the fridge? ›

Refrigerated energy bites will last up to 2 weeks in the fridge. They do begin to dry out, so just keep an eye on them. I'll be honest though, ours have never last that long as our whole family gobbles them up!

How many energy balls can I eat a day? ›

These 4-ingredient protein balls have about 128 calories so you should only eat 2 of these as part of a healthy amount of calories and fat. Keep in mind that you need to consider all the foods consumed in a day and keep it within the acceptable range for your height and weight.

What is the ball theory in science? ›

Dalton's Model of an Atom

It is often referred to as the billiard ball model. He defined an atom to be a ball-like structure, as the concepts of atomic nucleus and electrons were unknown at the time. If you asked Dalton to draw the diagram of an atom, he would've simply drawn a circle!

How does a ball gain energy? ›

As the ball falls towards the ground, its gravitational potential energy is transformed into kinetic energy. The kinetic energy of the ball will continue increasing as the ball gains momentum, until it finally collides with a surface. When the ball collides, the kinetic energy is transformed into other forms of energy.

How is energy stored in a ball? ›

A ball a height has the potential energy due to its raised position. When the ball is dropped from that position, it begins to fall. The falling ball has the kinetic energy due to its motion. Thus the potential energy stored in the ball in its raised position changes into kinetic energy when the ball is falling.

When hitting a ball causes energy to be? ›

The energy is converted into the kinetic energy of the ball as it is accelerated away from you in the direction you hit it. The ball gains energy from you.
