How to Unlock Costumes in Elder Scrolls Online (2024)

The Antiquarian Robes are acquired by completing the "Master of the Eye" Antiquities achievement. This is awarded by simply reaching the max level in the Scrying Skill Line.

The Arena Gladiator costume is unlocked by combining 50 Arena Gladiator's Proofs, which you can get by completing Conquest Missions in Cyrodiil.

The Black Hand Robe costume is acquired from the quest "Filling the Void" which is the last quest of the Dark Brotherhood story and is picked up from Speaker Terenus at the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary.

One of the more time-consuming outfits to unlock, but you do unlock three at the same time. First head to Wrothgar and complete the zone. You need to complete the main quest, 40 quests in Wrothgar, kill 4 of the world bosses, and clear all the delves and dungeons. Next, you need to find all the relics needed for Wrothgar Relic Hunter achievement. You should now have Hero of Wrothgar and Wrothgar Relic Hunter achievements. This should finally unlock the quest "A Cold Wind from the Mountain" from Curator Umutha at the House of Orsimer Glories. Completing this quest rewards outfit unlocks for Cavalier of the Sworn Oath, Old Orsinium Sentry and Trinimac's Penitent Knight.

This is unlocked as part of the High Isle story. Complete the quest "A Chance for Peace" to unlock this costume.

Tricky and time consuming to unlock. First, you need to earn event tickets and buy some fragments from the Impresario Event Merchant. You'll need to get the Hallowed Basin fragment, Illuminated Dragon Scroll fragment and Kvatchian Incense fragment so you can combine to unlock Soulfire Dragon Illusion. Once you have this, you need to collect yet more fragments from the Impresario - Blessed Rubedite Metal Enamel, Captured Dragonflame and Sanctified Metalworking Tools. Combining these will allow you to unlock the costume. It'll take 30 event tickets in total from the 2022 events.

Awarded for becoming Emperpr in Cyrodiil. To do this you must be the highest-ranked player in your alliance whilst your alliance holds the six keeps surrounding the Imperial City.

Obtained by completing the Thieves Guild quest "Forever Hold Your Peace" which is a rank 7 mission.

Collect and combine all of the Cartographer Fragments found in the Nchuthnkarst public dungeon in Western Skyrim. There are 7 fragments to collect and they drop randomly from any monsters in the dungeon (trash mobs and bosses). The drop rate is quite low so may take some grinding but should be doable in 3-4 hours.

Awarded for completing the quest "The Durance Vile" in the Deadlands.

This costume is unlocked by completing the quest "A Cold Wind from the Mountain". See the instructions for unlocking Cavalier of the Sworn Oath as they are unlocked together.

Another grind reward. This time you need to collect 10 Plague-Drenched Fabrics from the Orcrest Public Dungeon in Northern Elsweyr.

This costume is unlocked by playing and completing the main story quests in Orsinium.

This costume is awarded for completing the quest "The Scarlet Judge" which you can pick up from Avo Elarven or The Scarlet Judge in Suran, Vvardenfell.

Awarded for completing the Dark Brotherhood quest "Signed in Blood" from Speaker Terenus.

Acquired by using a Siege of Cyrodiil Recommendation with 50 Siege of Cyrodiil Merits in your inventory. The merits and the recommendation will be consumed to create a rune box, which you can use to get the costume.

Awarded for collecting fragments in the Forgotten Wastes public dungeon in Vvardenfell. You'll need all 7 fragments in total, one of each - Ornamental Fasteners, Tailor's Bell, Tailor's Sheers, Tailor's Hammer, Incense Of Toolwork, Writhing Thread, and the Patterned Bolt.

This outfit is granted to you simply by joining the Thieves Guild and completing the quest "Partners in Crime". If you have the Thieves Guild DLC you can accept the quest from the Collections tab, Zone DLC section.

Awarded for collecting 50 (yes 50!) Scaly Cloth Fragments from the Silent Halls in Blackwood. Random drop from any baddie in the dungeon so just kill and loot everything.

Unlocked by combining 50 Siege of Cyrodiil Merits with a Siege of Cyrodiil Distinction. You can earn one Merit per account per day by completing an Imperial City District Quests. You can then purchase the Distinction for Tel Var Stones from a Tel Var General Merchant. They will reward a container which you can unlock or sell to the guild stores.

This costume is unlocked by completing the quest "Uneasy Alliances" in Southern Elsweyr.

This polymorph is obtained by completing the quest "The Bargain's End", part of the Shadowfen story quest chain.

This is a special polymorph obtained by drinking the Witchmother's Brew during the Witches Festival. You need to complete the quest "The Witchmother's Bargain" by speaking with Crow Caller in Olyve's Brewerwhich (Auridon, Glenumbra, Stonefalls). The quest will reward the Witchmother's Whistle, using which will summon a cauldron and grant 100% experience boost. Drinking from the cauldron will turn you into this skeleton polymorph.
