Tight game predicted for Spurs in Tottenham vs Brentford simulation (2024)

Tottenham will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League on Wednesday when they take on London rivals Brentford.

Nathan Ake scored a late goal to secure a 1-0 win for Manchester City over Spurs in the Lilywhites' last outing, with the defeat putting an end to Spurs' fantastic home record against City and also knocking them out of the FA Cup. Next up for Spurs is Brentford in the league, and Ange Postecoglou's side will be desperate for three points on Wednesday.

The last meeting between Spurs and Brentford ended in a 2-2 draw, with Emerson Royal and Cristian Romero both getting on the scoresheet. Pape Sarr and Senegal were knocked out of AFCON on Monday night, so the midfielder may return to the Spurs squad for Wednesday.

We simulated Spurs vs Brentford to get a score prediction

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 24 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Spurs could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Skipp, Bentancur, Maddison; Kulusevski, Richarlison, Werner.

We predict that Brentford could line up in a 3-5-2 formation, with their line-up as follows: Flekken; Collins, Pinnock, Mee; Roerslev, Damsgaard, Janelt, Jensen, Lewis-Potter; Toney, Maupay.

Brentford were the better of the two sides in the first half, and they were unlucky not to take a lead into the break with Ivan Toney striking both posts in the space of five minutes. After the first-half let-off, Spurs came to life in the second half, with James Maddison pulling the strings.

A through ball from Maddison to Richarlison looked set to free the Brazilian, but the striker was hacked down by Ethan Pinnock who was sent off for the late challenge. Maddison forced the Brentford keeper into making a fantastic save from the resulting free-kick, and Spurs then took the lead from the corner that followed.

Maddison's original cross into the box was headed clear by the Bees, but the ball recycled itself back out to the midfielder on the right. Timo Werner was able to find a pocket of space at the back post, and Maddison whipped a delightful cross into the German's path who placed the ball into the net for 1-0.

Brennan Johnson was pulled down in the box in the 84th minute to earn Spurs a penalty, and with Maddison off the pitch, the responsibility fell to the Welshman. But, Johnson's spot-kick was poor, with the ball skimming the outside of the post as the score remained 1-0.

Brentford offered little threat in the closing stages of the game, and Postecoglou's side was able to pick up a much-needed win.

EA FC 24 predicted final score: Tottenham 1-0 Brentford
